Next came what is now known as "Karate's Golden Age". Matsumura and Itosu taught many students that would go on to be very famous masters. Some of those masters where Chotoku Kyan, Choki Motobu, Chosin Chibana, Kenwa Mabuni, Chomo Hanashiro, Nabe Matsumura, Kentsu Yabu and Gichin Funakoshi. Other masters of the age not taught by Matsumura or Itosu where Chojun Miyagi, and Shinken Taira. Chotoku Kyan, Choki Motobu, Chosin Chibana, Chojun Miyagi, and Shinken Taira taught our Grand Master Eizo Shimabukuro.
