Someone gave Judy a little plaque when Bryanna was born that said, "All a parent can give a child is roots and wings." Judy says she never realized how true and important those words are until this moment in time. Bryanna had roots in her family and community, and she was given wings to fly - to be who she was, without pretense and with the love of all those around her. Bryanna was loved by her mother, her father, and her family. She was surrounded be a beautiful, caring community at the Naugatuck Congregational Church, her school staff in Plainville and Naugatuck, the VNA pedi-pals program and many wonderful friends. How can I put into words the effect that Bryanna has had on all of us? Her friend Kasey remembers her as "a girl with a smile on her face that brightens the room." But she has done so much more than that. She has brightened our lives. The most important thing a parent can give a child is roots and wings. Well, Bryanna has angel's wings for she was a gift from heaven. She taught us about compassion and strength of spirit. She taught us to smile and put our troubles aside. Now we send our angel back to heaven, but she will be a part of us forever.
